Residential Warranty

  • Portica’s Limited Warranty warrants products to the original buyer if the furniture frame or weld fails structurally within ten (10) years from the date of purchase.

Portica will repair or replace the part/piece at our discretion. Replacements will be in the original color and style whenever possible; however, in the event of a production discontinuance, equal value replacement will be offered.

  • If the aluminum frame fails structurally (i.e., broken frame or welds) under normal use or conditions we will at our option, replace or repair the frame in the original color and style, if available, or in a similar style if color or model has been discontinued. If the finish peels or blisters within three (3) years from the date of purchase, we will repair or refinish the frame in the original color and style, or in a similar style if color or model has been discontinued. Stamped aluminum tabletops carry the same warranty as extruded aluminum frames. Components such as chair feet are subject to wear and tear and are not considered part of the frame.

  • If the hand-woven resin wicker breaks or structurally deteriorates, or if the weave excessively fades or becomes discolored within five (5) years from the date of purchase, we will at our option, replace, repair or refinish the product in the original color and style, if available, or in a similar color and style if the original has been discontinued. The weave will not be warrantied if the structural deterioration, unraveling, discoloration, fading, etc. is due to chemicals, cleaning products, sun lotions et al, use in commercial settings, extreme heat or sunlight. Components such as chair feet are subject to wear and tear and are not considered part of the frame.

  • Manufacturing defects in fabrics are covered for a period of 3 to 5 years, depending on the specific fabric type.

    • Solution-dyed acrylic: 5-Years

    • Solution-dyed polyester: 3-years

Failures in upholstery components (including stitching, zippers, sling rails, cording, buttons, and cushion foam), and other aspects of workmanship are warrantied for one (1) year.

  • Portica tabletops are warranted for a period of one (1) year from the date of delivery to the end user against structural failure due to defects in the materials or workmanship. Solid surface stone tops are made with durable, high materials. They are hand crafted, making each piece unique. Variation in the color, texture, veins and gloss levels may vary. This variation is normal and not warrantable. Portica tabletops are designed for normal, outdoor use in a residential setting. However, all table tops require periodic maintenance to preserve their beauty. This maintenance will help protect the surface from deterioration, staining, and in some cases cracking which can occur if left unsealed.

    What is not covered:

    • Stains, fading, or discoloration of original color, texture, or gloss due to negligence, improper maintenance, acts of God, or alterations or modifications of any kind

    • Scratching, chipping, and pitting that normally occurs in stone surfaces.

    • Moisture can be absorbed into some porous surfaces, which can freeze and cause cracking—this is not covered by the warranty.

  • Portica teak furniture frames are warranted to the original purchaser for a period of five (5) years from the date of sale under normal residential use.

This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship affecting the structural integrity of the teak frame. At its discretion, Portica will repair or replace the defective component or product with the same or a comparable item if the original has been discontinued.

Natural Characteristics of Teak – Not Covered

    • Teak wood is a natural material and is highly valued for its unique character and organic beauty. As such, the following are considered normal characteristics and are not covered under this Limited Warranty:

    • Nicks, splits, cracks, knots, grain variations, and other natural imperfections

    • Hand-applied finishes and slight variations in color or tone

    • Uneven surfaces, cupping, bowing, checking (small surface cracks), and lifting of the grain over time

    • Changes that occur as teak acclimates to its environment, including expansion and contraction

As teak adjusts to its surroundings, mortise and tenon joints may temporarily appear to open or split. This is a natural process that typically stabilizes as the wood equalizes and contributes to the furniture’s distinctive, aged appearance.

Teak Oil Disclaimer & Cushion Care

    • Teak naturally contains oils that may appear red, yellow, brown, or green in color. Some oil bleed is expected and is a natural occurrence. Staining caused by teak oil is not covered under this Limited Warranty.

    To help prevent cushion staining:

    • Cushions should be brought indoors before furniture becomes wet

    • When not in use, cushions should be stored separately from teak frames

Once the teak has developed its natural silver-gray patina in areas where cushions rest on the frame, it is no longer necessary to store cushions indoors for this purpose.

    Exclusions

This Limited Warranty does not cover:

    • Damage or staining caused by teak oil

    • Normal aging, weathering, or patina development

    • Improper care, maintenance, or use

    • Commercial or non-residential use

  • If an umbrella frame, or component part (ground bumper, bolt, washer, etc.) fails due to manufacturing defect within one (1) year from the date of purchase, we will at our option, repair or replace the part in the original color and style, if available, or in a similar color and style if the original has been discontinued.

  • Failure caused by unreasonable or abusive use, fire, freight damage, acts of nature (such as, but not limited to, freezing or high winds), suntan oil or other chemicals, normal fading, scratching, chipping of the finish, fading, weathering or staining or discoloration of the furniture, accidental damage repair or modifications by consumer, glass breakage, commercial use and normal wear and tear are excluded from this warranty. Defects that develop due to extreme climate conditions are not covered by this warranty. This warranty does not apply to floor samples or “seconds.”

    What is NOT covered:

    • Failures caused by unreasonable, unanticipated, or abusive use

    • Failures causes by lack of reasonable and necessary care and maintenance

    • Normal fading of fabrics, upholstery, or woven materials

    • Rope deterioration, discoloration, fading, etc. due to chemicals, cleaning products, sun lotions and others, extreme heat or sunlight.

    • Steel swivel mechanisms

    • Bursting or cracking of tubing due to exposure to water and freezing temperatures due to improper storage

    • Return freight after first year

    • Minor variations in color and texture of finishes

    • Finish failures from indoor pool or seaside use caused by neglecting to provide reasonable and necessary care

    • Damage caused by acts of nature

    • Wind damage
